Frequently asked questions

  1. 01

    Is this realm free?

Yes — completely free. No subscriptions, no donations, no shop. The realm exists for educational purposes and the running costs are paid out of pocket by the operator.
  2. 02

Who are all those other players around me?

They are mostly bots — automated characters powered by the PlayerBots module. Around 2000 of them live across every level bracket (1-9, 10-19, …, 80), play their own class, and queue dungeons, battlegrounds and raids. You can hire one as a follower, invite them to your group, or simply rub shoulders with them in the world. They are realistic enough that you may not always tell whether the player next to you is human or a bot.
  3. 03

Can I solo dungeons and raids, or do I need a guild?

You can solo everything. The PlayerBots fill your group on demand and run dungeons, battlegrounds and raids alongside you. The AutoBalance module also scales instanced content to the actual group size, so a 5-man dungeon stays a 5-man fight even when it is one human and four bots. A guild is nice for social play, never required.

How do I summon the Adventure Assistant?

Type .aa in chat and the companion NPC spawns next to you. Right-click for vendor, mailbox, bank, transmog, beastmaster, kickstarter, talent templates, capital teleports, and a party-wide resurrect — all in one gossip menu. It also runs passive auto-buff, auto-heal and auto-resurrect on the player who summoned it.
  5. 05

How do I tune my XP, loot, and gold rates?

Realm defaults are Blizzlike (x1). Each player picks their own rates on top: .xp set N for the personal XP multiplier (.xp disable freezes you at the current level, .xp default reverts), .rate loot all N for every loot quality, .rate money N for monster copper and quest gold, .rate reputation N for faction reputation. The Adventure Assistant exposes the same knobs through a gossip menu (.aa → Settings) so you do not have to memorize them. Caps: loot x10, money or reputation x100, XP x100.
  6. 06

Why are random characters chatting with me in /say or /general?

That is the Ollama Chat module — bots can hold a real conversation, powered by an AI that runs on the realm itself. They react to what you write nearby and break in with small talk on their own. Replies are short, stay in character, and come back in whichever language you wrote in. Nothing you type ever leaves the realm.
  7. 07

What is the score on my account page, and why did I get muted?

That is the automatic chat moderation system on the public channels. Every account starts with a good-conduct score; sustained insults, hate speech, and threats subtract points (casual swearing, slang and venting are fine). When the score hits zero an automatic mute kicks in. The score regenerates a few points per day on its own. The full rules — thresholds, false-positive handling, what the operator does with the verdict log — are documented on the Privacy page.
  8. 08

    Is there a hardcore mode?

Yes — opt-in via the Challenge Modes module. Self-imposed character modifiers including Hardcore (one death and the character is locked), Iron Man (no buffs, no repairs, no outside heals), and a few others. Set per-character: you pick the ruleset at the start, and the character is locked into it for its lifetime. Death is final on a Hardcore character.
  9. 09

When do I get arena points?

Arena points for the standard rated bracket (2v2 / 3v3 / 5v5 arena teams) are not paid per match — the realm hands them out in one weekly batch, every Tuesday at 09:00, server time. Play at least 10 rated games that week and your team is paid by its rating; spend the points on PvP gear. The 1v1 and 3v3-solo queues are the exception: they pay arena points per match, each at its own multiplier.

What about all the other modules?

Every module on the home page is opt-in: you must interact with its NPC or its chat command to use it. None of them modify your character without your action. Browse the cards above for one-line descriptions of each, and click any card for the full details, examples, and source link.
  11. 11

My transmogs disappeared after a restart — why?

Always save your transmog as a set via the Warpweaver NPC. Saved sets survive restarts and re-apply in one click. Loose, un-saved transmogs sometimes need a reapply.
  12. 12

Is there a Discord, ticket system, or way to contact a GM?

No — by design. The realm is built to run unattended. There is no Discord, no ticket queue, no support email, and no GMs polled in real time. Automated systems handle moderation, account recovery, and rate-limiting; the operator reviews logs periodically and tunes the rules from those reviews. Your account page already shows your moderation history, so anything that warrants a second look is visible to the operator without you having to flag it.
  13. 13

I lost my password and my recovery codes — can I get my account back?

No. Recovery codes are the only path back when you forget your password, and they are stored only as one-way hashes (even the operator cannot read them in the database). If you lose all 10 codes and your password, the account is unrecoverable. Treat the codes like cash — write them down or save them in a password manager.
  14. 14

Where can I find the source code?

Everything that runs this realm is open source on the operator's GitLab — the build pipeline, this very website, the Adventure Assistant scripts, and each of the modules listed on the home page. Browse the full list at gitlab.tartampluch.duckdns.org/martin. Read it, copy it, run your own realm — that is part of the "educational" in the disclaimer at the bottom.
